Overview
Kidlington return to league action after falling to a 2-4 defeat to Woodcote FC in the Second Round of the Oxfordshire Senior Cup. A game that saw four goals and a red card in the first 30 minutes ultimately helped the Step 7 side progress to the next round. After dusting down with fresh faces, they’re ready to go again at the hands of Enfield FC.
Albeit the 5-1 loss to league leaders Real Bedford just 14 days ago, the Green’s have gone toe-to-toe in the last five encounters and have picked up seven points in that time. Positives are to be taken from those recent encounters, but Craig McKay’s side will be looking to bolster that going into a busy footballing period.
After transferring across to the Southern League Division One Central, Enfield have settled into life calmly and currently sit in a respectable 11th place. The away side have won just once in seven, after a solid start to the season. Recently off the back of a decent point at home to Berkhamsted, The E’s will be looking to turn their away form around having won just once on the road this season.
What’s looking to be a scrappy affair will turn out to be an unmissable one as Kidlington welcomes Enfield to Yarnton Road this afternoon.
Recent Form
Kidlington - WWLDL
After having to wait until the 19th October for their first win at the hands of Kings Langley, Kiddy found success straight after following a hard-fought 1-0 victory at home to Leighton Town. A first half strike from Dineen Hollifield-Meegan turnt out to be the winning goal, as spirits were left high ahead of a tough visit to Real Bedford.
The challenge proved to be just out of Kiddy’s reach as they were defeated 5-1, a late Powfil Raposo penalty gave Kidlington a consolation in the closing matters of the game. That was then followed by consecutive away trips to Barton Rovers where a 0-0 draw was played out, before an entertaining game at Stotfold left Kidlington empty handed, losing 3-2.
Enfield - DLDLD
After a decent start to the campaign, losing twice in their first seven affairs, Alex Salmon’s side now sit winless since the 1st October. A goalless draw away at young side North Leigh, followed by a defeat to Ware, then three tricky games at the hands of Biggleswade (2-2 D), Real Bedford (1-3 L) and Brekhamsted (2-2 D) has left the Visitors desperate to retain three points to get them back on track.
