Match Preview | Real Bedford v Kidlington

Edward Carter1 Nov 2024 - 19:04

Kidlington are back in action tomorrow as we head to the Ledger Stadium to face Real Bedford in Bedfordshire.

After back to back wins against Kings Langley and Leighton Town, Kidlington will be looking for a possible nine points out of nine in the Southern League Division One Central as we take on Real Bedford. A goal from Dineen Hollifield-Meegan was enough to take all three points on Wednesday night as Leighton Town failed to break down the Kidlington defence. Craig McKay will be looking to replicate that defensive performance as we take on first placed Real Bedford.

The Opposition

Rob Sinclair’s side currently sit top of the Southern League Division One Central winning 9 out of the possible 11. The Pirates have only lost one game this season as they welcomed Welwyn Garden City, which goals from Bradley Wadkins and Bailey Stevenson was enough for the Citizens to take all three points. However, since the 17th August they haven’t lost a game. Only dropping points to Ware, as a goal from Shaheim Ward rescued them a point. The Bedfordshire outfit have scored numerous goals and have seen massive victories against teams like North Leigh and Thame United.

Real Bedford succeed in coming back against Enfield after conceding an early goal, The Pirates then won 3-1 and extended their winning streak. Goals from Joseph Evans and Ben Stevens was also added to by a Callum Taylor own goal.

It will be a massive test for Kidlington as they take on the most inform team in the division.

Team News

As confirmed by Craig McKay in the post-match Leighton Town interview, his side are close to be full strength with returning players already making the impact that is required.

Matt Gunn joined from Ardley earlier this week to add to Craig McKay’s defensive options.
