Kidlington return to League action, after being knocked out of the FA Trophy two weeks ago, as we welcome Biggleswade FC to Yarnton Road.

Kidlington was knocked out of the FA Trophy, two weeks ago, as Exmouth Town won 4-1 against the Greens. An opening goal from Fraser Allen wasn’t enough as two braces from Ben Griffith and Tom Bath meant Exmouth booked their place in the next round of the FA Trophy. Kidlington return to league action after picking up their first point of the season as we drew to Hertford Town, 1-1.

Biggleswade FC come into this fixture off a very positive result in the FA Cup against AFC Dunstable, where in the 90+8th minute, a penalty was converted by Lee Northfield. Subsequently, booking their place in the FA Cup 3rd Qualifying Round which is the furthest they’ve been.

The Opposition

Biggleswade FC, who currently sit 13th in the Southern League Division One Central, have played 3 league fixtures so far (this is due to their progress in the FA Cup) and have won one, drew one and lost one. Biggleswade, who are currently in their sixth consecutive season at this level, have had extremely good form in the FA Cup as they currently are in the 3rd Qualifying Round against Canvey Island.

Biggleswade’s last Southern League Division One Central fixture was on the 26th August as they beat AFC Dunstable 2-1 with goals from Daniel Bond and Lawrence Marsh.

Team News

Craig McKay will have the choice of most of his squad, as Billy Sheperd avoids adding himself to the injury list, with him being subbed off against Exmouth Town. Dineen Hollifield-Meegan and Sam Jenkins will continue to work hard to get themselves fit for the upcoming fixtures.

Last Time Out

Kidlington were knocked out of the FA Trophy as Exmouth Town won 4-1. A brilliant opening goal from Fraser Allen was cancelled out by two braces from Exmouth Town’s Ben Griffith and Tom Bath. Billy Sheperd was involved in a clash, resulting him having to be subbed off after being subbed on a few minutes earlier.

Last Time We Met Biggleswade FC

Last time we welcomed Biggleswade FC to Yarnton Road it ended 2-1 to the Bedfordshire outfit. However, Kidlington would earn a point four months later at Langford Road as we drew 1-1.
