We have played Tuffley once already this season in the in the Floodlit cup and won 4 - 2 that evening at Glavum Park. That evening our goals were netted by Tommy Castle who scored 2, Mark Flanagan and Mark Begg with Walter Greenwood replying with brace for Tuffley.
Tuffley find themselves in a relegation dog fight and I'm certain it won't be at all easy for us this afternoon. Their last 2 games have seen them end a poor run of 6 straight defeats by drawing 1 - 1 with Flackwell Heath and then securing the points with a 3 - 2 win away against Wokingham & Emmbrook. So I'm sure they will be battling away to try and secure something from this match today.
As for us, we've now had 2 very significant results on the trot after securing our fine 1 - 0 win against Flackwell on Saturday. That's now 10 straight league wins which have carried us to the top of the table with 6 league games remaining this season. We also have the advantage of having 2 games in hand on both our rivals and we are 1 point ahead of Thatcham and 5 ahead of Flackwell.
For Kidlington folk the table makes sweet reading but we all know there is still a lot to be done if we are finally to be crowned league champions and that work starts again this afternoon.
For those wishing to travel to watch the match here is the address of the ground - Glevum Park Lower Tuffley Lane, Tuffley, Gloucester. GL2 5DT
The team news is that Mark Flanagan is likely to be out for at least 2 weeks after his injury sustained at Thatcham has been diagnosed as hip flexor injury. Other than Flanny everyone else is available for the trip so the squad will be the same as Saturday.
